As we start walking my friend caught her eye on a new guy from school, he was tall, muscular with a nice face, he caught my eye but I know if my friend saw him first I couldnââ¬â¢t do anything. As I walked over near the office going to my class he was exiting, accidentally bumping into each other he looked into my eyes, I paused for a moment I couldnââ¬â¢t feel anything. Whats Happening in the Milky Ways Core
Somethings happening at the heart of the Milky Way galaxyà ââ¬â something intriguing and really fascinating. Whatever it is, the events theyve seen there have astronomers focused on understanding just how it works. What they learn will go a long way to helping our understanding of such black holes at the hearts of other galaxies, too.à All the activity is related to the galaxys supermassive black hole ââ¬â named Sagittarius A* (or Sgr A* for short) ââ¬â and it lies right at the center of our galaxy. Normally, this black hole has been pretty quiet, for a black hole. Sure, it periodically feasts on stars or gas and dust that stray into its event horizon. But, it doesnt have strong jets as other supermassive black holes do. Instead, its pretty quiet, for a supermassive black hole. Whats it Eating? Astronomers began to notice in recent years that Sgr A* is sending out chatter thats visible to x-ray telescopes. So, they began to ask, What kind of activity would cause it to suddenly wake up and start sending out emissions? and they began looking at possible causes. Sgr A* seems to produce about one bright x-ray flare every ten days or so, as picked up by long-term monitoring done by the Chandra X-ray Observatory, Swift, and XMM-Newton spacecraft (which all perform x-ray astronomy observations). Suddenly, in 2014, the black hole kicked up its messaging ââ¬â producing a flare every day.à A Close Approach Starts Sgr A* Chattering What could have irritated the black hole? The uptick in x-ray flares happened soon after theclose approach to the black hole by a mysterious object astronomers named G2. They long thought G2 was an extended cloud of gas and dust in motion around the central black hole. Could it be the source of material for the black holes feeding uptick? In late 2013, it passed very close to Sgr A*. The approach didnt tear apart the cloud (which was one possible prediction of what might happen). But, the black holes gravitational pull did stretch the cloud a bit.à Whats Happening?à That posed a mystery. If G2 was a cloud, it very likely would have been stretched quite a bit by the gravitational tug it experienced. It didnt. So, what could G2 be?à Some astronomers suggest it might be a star with a dusty cocoon wrapped around it. If so, the black hole may have pulled some of that dusty cloud away.à When the material encountered the black holes event horizon, it would have been heated enough to give off x-rays, which were reflected by the clouds of gas and dust and picked up by the spacecraft.à The increased activity at Sgr A* is giving scientists another look at how the material is funneled into our galaxys supermassive black hole and what happens to it once it gets close enough to feel the gravitational pull of the black hole. They know that it is heated as it spins around, partly from friction with other materials, but also by magnetic field activity. All of that can be detected, but once the material is beyond the event horizon, its lost forever, as is any light it is emitting. At that point, its all trapped by the black hole and cant escape.à à Also of interest in our galaxys core is the action of supernova explosions. Along with strong stellar winds from hot young stars, such activity blows bubbles through interstellar space. The solar system is moving through one such bubble, located far from the center of the galaxy, called the Local Interstellar Cloud. Bubbles such as these may help protect young planetary systems from stronger, harsher radiation for periods of time. Black Holes and Galaxies Black holes are ubiquitous throughout the galaxy, and supermassive ones exist at the hearts of most galactic cores. In recent years, astronomers have figured out that central supermassive black holes are an integral part of a galaxys evolution, affecting everything from star formation to the shape of a galaxy and its activities. Sagittarius A* is the closest supermassive black hole to us ââ¬â it lies at a distance of about 26,000 light-years from the Sun. The next closest one lies at the heart ofà the Andromeda Galaxy, at a distance of 2.5 million light-years. These two provide astronomers with up-close experience with such objects and help develop an understanding of how they form and how they behave in their galaxies.

To secure a better stance amongst the liberals and African Americans, JFK needed to reach out to their communities. So when Martin Luther King Jr. was impris oned in Georgia for attempting to integrate a restaurant, Jack Kennedy called Kingââ¬â¢s wife to offer sympathy and support. This helped him to make a better impression with civil rights activists and African Americans. Lastly, JFKââ¬â¢s debate with Nixon proved him to be a more calm and collected candidate, looking younger and more at ease than the ââ¬Å"abrasiveâ⬠, ââ¬Å"unstatesmanlikeâ⬠, and ââ¬Å"haggardâ⬠Nixon (Dallek, 17-18). Ethical Dilemmas of New Trustee and Guardian â⬠MyAssignmenthelp.com
Question: Discuss about the Ethical Dilemmas of New Trustee and Guardian. Answer: Ethical dilemmas are faced by everyone in their workplace and it will only be a rare person who has not faced any sort of ethical issues in the company he is working for. I once faced the same when I was hired at New Trustee Guardian. The business environment here is more or less good but the higher authorities used to pressurize us a lot. My shift hours used to be 9 to 5 but after a month or two, my senior management used to force me to stay in the office for long hours. Many a times I used to arrive home after 11 oclock. After 3 months, instead of eight hours of work, the management increased the working hours to nine long hours, i.e., 9 to 6. With the same, though there were availability of much refreshment in the building including interest clubs, cafeteria and gardens but we were unable to enjoy the same due to our long working duration, as the organization was mainly bothered about accomplishing the targets and also, there is zero motivation for us to work with full potential. With some of my colleagues, I went up for a mass protest against such harsh working conditions but the management was determined on its rules and policies. The management heard our call and promised to work on it. We waited for one more month and the required change was noticed. Our shift time was changed again to the previous one. However, I never tried to contact any of the new employees to inform them what was happened as I did not want to make a barrier in between the management and the rest of the employees working there and I still feel good for my decision. During my job in New Trustee and Guardian, one of our customers entered to the store cursing and yelling at the management. I knew that it was out of frustration and therefore I did not take it personally but I made sure that she knew that her concern is being heard by us. Therefore, I listened to her complaint carefully and apologized for the same. She was actually complaining about a product that she wanted to return but she did not had the receipt with her as she lost it. I explained her that I will not be able to give her the cash refund in the absence of receipt, as it was against the company norms and policy, but that I can allow her to her same amount as store credit. Though, by getting cash refund, she was likely to be much happier but she was satisfied with the store credits as well and the whole issue ended up by being a good deal and a win-win situation. I was appreciated by my senior manager for handling and fixing the problem by having both the employer and the customer come out on the top.

Specifically, the treatise reviews the article Qawaid Al-Fiqh: The legal maxims of Islamic laws by Kamali Hashim. The discussion of Qawaid Fiqhiyyah is based on the content of this article. Qawaid Fiqhiyyah According to Kamali, Qawaid Fiqhiyyah is vital in creation of the Islamic law since they are part of the basic principles that form the underlying elements of fiqh rules (Kamali, 2009). In fact, Qawaid Fiqhiyyah are part and parcel of the f iqh rules and are applicable in different cases originating from daily rulings such as munakahat, transaction and evidence among others. Since the Qawaid Fiqhiyyah supports the many minor fiqh rules, its absence makes the rulings lack any substantial ground since they would be lacking the rationale. As indicated in Qawaid Fiqhiyyah, the intensions behind an action form the main rationale for judging such an act. In relation to Islamic banking, any transaction should be aligned to the intention of the parties involved (Kamali, 2009). Therefore, the transaction will have an effect when its purpose is directly related to the primary intention. The Islamic banks have applied Qawaid Fiqhiyyah in declaring their regulations on customer financing on the element of non-interest because it is obligatory to act so. This action is however not informed by the simple act of continuing a traditional practice or endeavouring to offer rationalization within the mudharabah. These actions are shared between the bank and the customers since the customers are the main source of the Rabb al mal (Kamali, 2009). The Qawaid Fiqhiyyah outlines the terms and conditions for contract between the banks and the customers with the banks performing the role of mudarib (Kamali, 2009). These contracts are very clear and specific on the various obligations of each party in all contingency of current and future interaction. The contract also function on the trade-based and interest-based financing under which the Islamic banks are expected to first acquire the commodity requested by the client before eventually making it available to the customer. Reflectively, the contract should be aligned to the intentions and should not operate on the hardships that may beget any harm in the arrangement. This harm should be removed from the underlying customs that form the foundation of ruling.Advertising Looking for report on common law? Let's see if we can help you! Actually, Qawaid Fiqhiyyah defines the principles that a bank should follow in case there is doubt in matters that are touching in the Sharia laws of banking (Kamali, 2009). In other words, the facts of an agreement as established in the laws must be honoured until the parties can establish a new conviction that reverses the previous stand. However, the new conviction must be relevant to the basic laws of banking. In conclusion, Qawaid Fiqhiyyah defines several agreements, contracts, and nature of services that Islamic banks give to their customers. Reflectively, these rules are evident in the Islamic banking system in the form of fiqh rules in the munakahat and other transactions. Reference Kamali, H. M. (2009). Living in a Frictionless World Essays
Living in a Frictionless World Essays Living in a Frictionless World Paper Living in a Frictionless World Paper Problems that could occur in a frictionless world: One of the most known problems would be that everything will slip; there will be no friction helping the object to stay in place. One example is when you are walking, you will slip a lot because there is no friction between the ground and your foot (or what you are wearing on your feet). Another example Is that you cannot hold anything; everything you try to hold will slip off your hand. Another very dangerous Issue would be when you are driving a vehicle; the vehicle will never stop moving unless It crashed Into something. There will no longer be any alarm resistance If friction does not exist on Earth. Thus, any meteorite that Is falling towards Earths surface will have no alarm resistance to create friction which generates heat. Henceforth, the meteorite will not lose any volume. This will make life a lot more dangerous when a meteorite Is crashing onto Earth. Another concern will be that you cannot digest any of your food; this Is because it requires friction for your body to digest food. Also, whatever you digest in your body will immediately exit your body because there is no friction to hold it in your body. Thus, human will not be able to survive for too long without friction. 2. Steps to help humankind to survive and function: As stated above, human will not be able to survive for so long without friction due to he fact that their body cannot digest food or store any ingested solid or liquid. Thus, it is require that they move to another area (parts of the world where there is still friction). Or what human could do is build restaurant in that area where there is friction for people to eat. This way, if the people eat there, their food could be digested. They should stay in that area for a couple of hours (long enough for their food to be digested).

Video review Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Video review - Essay Example The first reason goes like this; If the US really wanted to overthrow Saddam from Iraq and install a true democracy, they could have backed up the popular uprising that took place just after the first Gulf War. Nevertheless instead of helping the peoples revolt, US stood by and allowed Saddams forces to viciously crush all opposition. Saddam could have been out many years ago but as I see it, US government found him worthy as a democracy arising from such a revolt would be one that they could not control and manipulate. As a US citizen I am really afraid of this situation and donââ¬â¢t want US government to create this kind of conspiracies. Furthermore; ââ¬Å"Iran is supporting three Shiite extremist groups in Iraq that have been attempting to attack US bases, Said General Ray Odierno, the top US commander in Iraq. However, thereââ¬â¢s a conflict as for the past 4 years the US military has blamed Iran for supporting violent anti-US groups functioning in Iraq, but has been unable to demonstrate a clear link with the government in Tehran.â⬠Thus, in my opinion US will first utilize Iran to get Iraq in hold, and then will run its forces onto Iran to detain it too as Iran seems to be coming in a very strong position. Specially because of having the nuclear power Iran is considered a sign of danger. The United States authorities want to make Iraq a power player to keep Iran in check in the West, Afghanistan to keep it in check in the East. The original goal was to liberate Iraq and invade Iran from there. Except removing Saddam, which created a power vacuum. Thus, US will get to remodel Iran from the ground up according to their precise stipulations. 3. The Worst scenario that can be faced by both countries among each other is war. However this is what American government always wanted. One of the plans of US was to make Israel and the Arab world united to invade or obstruct Iran. However for Iran, another worst case scenario would be to pre-emptively bombard Israel

Escalation and Practice Essay Example for Free
Escalation and Practice Essay A holographic fabric printer has been developed by AIC(Advanced International Corporation) and is considering the option of exporting it to India. The research paper is aimed at performing an analysis of the situation to determine whether such an idea will bear fruits or not. The social situation, the political situation, the location, scenario, the future business prospects and the general textile industry statistics are performed to assist in the implementation of the idea. It is on the basis of this information that a hypothesis has been made. AIC is basically concerned with the manufacture and development of machinery and parts for industries such as printing firms, toy manufacturering not excluding the fabric industry. The printing part includes; posters, large wallpapers, and large billboards for companies advertisement. The company has developed a new tool that enables the printing of holographic images on fabrics. The new tool is not only meant for commercial advertising purposes but also could be utilized in the modern clothing industry. AIC is looking to export the printing tool to India and some of the Asians countries because the Central and Eastern Asian countries are the biggest exporters of raw and ready made fabric. It is therefore the aim of this research paper to make a thorough analysis of the situation and come up with a suggestion or conclusion on whether the project will be viable and whether it will be profitable for AIC to go ahead and export the tool to textile industries in India. From previous statistics carried out by India itself and other interested bodies it is clear that Indias exports are slightly lower than what they expect. If this tool is introduced to India, it might be a success in increasing the market for Indias textile exports. It is therefore important to find out this fact with the aim of giving the relevant conclusion. The research will look at the percentage of textile products exported by India to various countries of the world, Indias annual industrial production and also the demand of various textile products by the mentioned counties. This will help in giving out a rough idea of what to expect by the year 2010 and whether the project should be put in place. Recommendations and conclusions will be made and leave it at the discretion of AIC. Basing on the studies performed and the data collected, it will be a good idea to export the holographic fabric printer to India as she is a growing market with sufficient demand , opportunities of trade as well as a potential future region in terms of textile production and exportation. This trade agreement between India and AIC would be one of the opportunities aimed at boosting the profits and business relations for both of them.à à à à à à à à à The viability of the project will be tested using the Simple Correlation method. This method will be used as it compares the relationship between two variable in a much simpler way as compared to other methods. When using this method, the study will be statistically significant if the outcome is either; higher than or equal to 0.7 (0.8) to 1.0; or lower than or equal to -0.7 (-0.8) to -1.0. The AICs project manager requires an analysis of the situation on the exportation of the new holographic printers to India. The paper therefore aims at determining whether such an endeavor will be beneficial or not in the long run. India on the other hand, is looking forward to boosting its textile exports all over the world and has a target of about 8% by the year 2010. India has a current share of approximately 4% to 5% of the total world textile export. After agriculture, textile is the second largest sector in India and it provides a lot ofà export revenue and a substantial GDP of the country. Octavians Journey to Become Augustus :: essays research papers
Octavian was born in Rome on September 23, 63 BC. He was given the name Gaius Octavius, however, he would not keep this name for long. His father, who shared his name, came from a respectable although undistinguished family and was governor of Macedonia. In terms of his rise to power, Octavianââ¬â¢s most important immediate family member was his mother, Atia, who was the niece of Julius Caesar, who would soon be Romeââ¬â¢s greatest and most successful general and Dictator. When Octavian was four years old, his father died so he spent most of his childhood with his stepfather Lucius Marcius Philippus. When he was 15 he was elected to the College of Pontiffs where Caesar requested that Octavius join his staff for hi campaign in Africa. Although he didnââ¬â¢t go to Africa with Caesar, the following year, he attempted to join Caesar in Spain to fight the forces of Pompey, however he fell ill and couldnââ¬â¢t go. When he finally recovered, he sailed to meet Caesar, only to be shipwrecked, however this did not stop Octavius, he traveled across hostile territory to Caesarââ¬â¢s camp, which greatly impressed Caesar. Octavius joined Caesar on the return home in which Caesar secretly changed his will to make Octavian his successor. On 44 BC, Caesar was assassinated, and his will revealed that Caesar had adopted his great-nephew Octavius as his son, making him the heir to the thrown. This meant that Octavianââ¬â¢s name was to be changed to Gaius Julius Caesar. When Octavian returned to Rome, he found it being led by Mark Antony and Aemilius Lepidus. Octavian failed to convince Marc Antony to hand over Caesarââ¬â¢s assets and documents, however he was recruited into the senate and when Antony left Rome to take command in northern Italy, Octavian made war on Antony who was defeated and fled to Gaul. Now the senate had lost control over Octavian who marched on Rome and forced the senate to accept him as consul. Three months later, he completely cut off the senatesââ¬â¢ power. In 40 BC, stated by the Treaty of Brundisium. The Roman Empire was to be divided between Marc Antony and Octavian, Marc Antony taking the east and Octavian taking the west. Eventually, Octavian became angry with Antony, and read his will to the public, which promised large inheritances to his children but also said that if he die, his body be moved to Egypt.

The role of originality and creativity in setting out a good marketing communication strategy
Introduction The paper panda tour of introducing 1600 paper pandas in Hong Kong has demonstrated the use of quite original and creative elements, which are important aspects in setting out a good marketing communication strategy (Ng, 2014). It has been indicated that marketing managers have tried their best to use original methods of attracting customers to particular products and services. The dimension of creativity implies oneââ¬â¢s talent in presenting projects that not only keep the attention of the audience but also make them realise that creativity is an indicator of long-term success (Thun, 2010). The objective of this paper is to explore the impact of originality and creativity on the process of developing a positive marketing communication strategy. Originality and creativity are major elements in setting out a relevant marketing communication strategy. These aspects allow marketers to send reliable brand messaging across numerous marketing channels, including social media which is associated with adequate creativity (Porcu, del Barrio-Garcia, & Kitchen, 2012). The paper panda tour serves as a proper example of how business should provide customers with more than the standard form of advertising (Thun, 2010). For instance, the idea of Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) makes a clear sense in this context by emphasising the originality and creativity dimensions of the strategy behind the paper panda tour. Researchers suggest that marketing teams should focus initially on the customer, which is the case with the paper pandas (Porcu, del Barrio-Garcia, & Kitchen, 2012). Customers are exposed to the original and creative project of paper pandas through a mix of integrated communication methods, which are considered by people eye-catching and trustworthy. According to marketing researchers, IMC is an innovative and creative step because the complete culture of marketing agencies, in-house marketing departments, and marketing consultants had expanded the idea of separating advertisement, direct marketing, sales promotion, and public relations, rather than the pleasant, customer-centred development process that IMC requires (Duncan & Mulhern, 2004). Integrated Marketing Communication has become an important part in marketing because the technological system has the integration of business stakeholders (Kalamas, Mitchell, & Lester, 2009). According to experts, planning and implementation of all marketing communications are required to be done in an original and creative manner in order to meet the marketing objectives and attract more customers (Vance, Howe, & Dellavalle, 2009). The process of building and applying different communication programs reflects in the possibility to have a solid impact in the future over time (Kitchen & Schultz, 1999). The general IMC method focuses on customers and functions to establish and classify the methods to extend the influential communications programs. For the creators of the paper panda tour, it has become important to plan, develop, implement and assess the coordinated and measurable influential marketing communication programs applicable to external and internal viewers over time (Laurie & Mortimer, 2011). It is a policy in which different marketing communication tools like promotion, public relations, sales promotion, direct marketing and personal selling operate together to strengthen the communication process to target consumers. Such holistic and creative approach has led to the popularity of paper pandas. Media has experienced a wide phase of development in the last decade, implying that the creators of this original project have considered the importance of applying essential marketing strategies to reach out an optimal number of customers (Duncan & Mulhern, 2004). Marketing managers were formerly focused on advertising their product/service through traditional marketing forms like TV, radio and newspapers (Gronroos, 2004). However, now the current marketing trend appears to be digital as Information Technology has become an important element of daily lives (Reid, 2005). The digital aspects of originality along with the physical dimensions of creativity evident in the massive project of paper pandas have indicated the use of proper communication strategies. A concept shift has been presented, or in other words, the creators of the project have focused on demonstrating a move from traditional marketing towards digital content that flows across various integrated media channels. As a r esult, more people can be informed about the project of the paper pandas and thus would prefer to see it (Laurie & Mortimer, 2011). The theory definitely suggests about building the marketing communication mix which is considered being interdependent and bringing more incorporation and moving towards having several methods of accessing media, i.e. bringing in more flexibility in the marketing mix by using a combination of traditional and new digital media. Furthermore, it refers to the actions of media audience as being migrant, i.e. changing the marketing form that can provide them with the required experience. In such marketing environment, customers are dynamically involved and looking for new, original and creative content to make proper connections. Transition has played a relevant role in shifting the marketing trends, which is obvious in the formation of the paper panda project. The concept of transition indicates that the traditional media is not being displaced; rather its operations and significance are being shifted with new media options (Reid, 2005). This reflects in providing detailed online information about the project, such as in social media platforms and blogs. For instance, in a blog by Ng (2014), the focus is on describing the paper panda project in detail, with an emphasis on the substantial number (1600) of paper pandas exhibited to the audience in Hong Kong. In this way, media transition is more than merely a technological shift changing the relationship between existing technologies, sectors, markets and supporters (Kelm, 2011). Transition has brought remarkable changes in the media rights and has improved marketing media concentration. The elements of originality and creativity have played an important role in forming a good strategy that involves a combination of different IMC elements (Michaelidou, Siamagka, & Christodoulides, 2011). According to marketing experts, there are five established IMC elements known as Advertising, Promotion, Direct marketing, Personal selling and PR (Public Relations). It has been indicated that the paper panda project in Hong Kong has been successful in covering all these elements and achieving substantial customer interest (Porcu, del Barrio-Garcia, & Kitchen, 2012). A good marketing strategy normally focuses on building original and creative content that creates attention as well as motivational encouragement for users to share it with their friends and families (Kelm, 2011). For instance, the paper panda project can be adequately popularised through different social media platforms because it is a relevant step to rely on the contribution of different users to talk about the exciting project. The keys to social media success are user contribution, user brand loyalty, user enthusiasm, and the communication between people (Laurie & Mortimer, 2011). The introduction of an original and creative design related to the paper pandas, and the creation of opportunities for social interaction, are some of the features making this project quite appealing to the general audience. Many marketing experts long before have recognised synergism and originality as important concepts behind the introduction of a good marketing strategy; the incorporated effect of each effort would force the marketing communication to become more effective (Laurie & Mortimer, 2011). In this way, originality and creativity can enhance the brand image and popularity of companies that consider the importance of endorsing those concepts (Kelm, 2011). Communication, especially if it is done in an original manner, also represents a significant driver of marketing communication activities. Communication, as seen in the paper panda project, is a fundamental element which allows the creators of the project to connect with the audience (Duncan & Mulhern, 2004). This simply occurs through communicating of ideas and seeking to establish particular perceptions of these original paper pandas introduced in a quite creative way. With the rapid development of technology, modern organizations can utilise different communication channels to attract a significant number of customers. As mentioned, the role of social media platforms is important in the process of facilitating organisational communication (Kelm, 2011). The creators of the paper panda project have obviously ensured the creative application of a relevant marketing planning platform in a direction of expanding the positive impact of communication on all stakeholders (Ng, 2014). Commu nication has a strategic role in contemporary organisations. It is important to emphasise its priority of expanding particular marketing activities through the development of diverse communication channels. The emphasis is to deliver a consistent and properly structured message about the original project. Creativity is basically the application of better ways of solving organisational problems. The ability of an organisation to change in the environment provides the degree of elasticity and adaptability in all kinds of situations through creativity (Laurie & Mortimer, 2011). Originality means that a company has promising financial prospects that will ensure increase in profits. It means that whatever changes occur in the market, the company will continue to grow by providing the required services, hence increasing its market share and in the end have high revenues. Thus, originality and creativity can be used as adequate measures of performance as related to the paper panda project (Ng, 2014). It is important to mention that this project is quite flexible and has produced the necessary positive effects that original and creative projects usually produce in the audience. This paper discussed the role of originality and creativity, which have been indicated as essential principles of a good marketing strategy (Duncan & Mulhern, 2004). Details about the paper panda project have been provided, as this information was closely related to the dimensions of originality and creativity (Kelm, 2011). The paper focused on explaining how the paper panda project ensured the use of originality and creativity in the sense that no one has ever done a similar project. In conclusion, the success of this project points out that marketing managers have demonstrated the implementation of a proper marketing strategy combining the dimensions of originality and creativity. The Platonic and Aristotelian Views on the Role and...
Introduction Womenââ¬â¢s rights and societal roles have varied throughout history. Yet, a common theme that is notable across many times and cultures is the notion that women are inferior to men. In ancient Greece, the opinion toward women followed this trend, and women were often overlooked in how they could contribute to society. It was rarely considered that the traits women share could be of use beyond their household duties. In this essay I will analyze the Platonic and Aristotelian views on the role and status of women. Although Plato and Aristotle had distinct beliefs on what women could contribute to the collective well being of society, they shared similar opinions about the genuine status that women had in comparison to men. Theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦In the Republic of Plato, Platoââ¬â¢s views are described through his teacher Socrates, and it is in Book V of the Republic that Platoââ¬â¢s view on the role of women is illuminated. The discussion until this p oint in the Republic had concerned the search for justice within the city and within the soul. At the end of Book IV, justice in the city was found within the principle of specialization, that each should adhere to the work they are best suited for. Likewise, justice within the individual was discovered within the tripartite structure of the soul, and resonated when the rational part of the soul ruled over the spirited and appetitive sections (Republic 440c-445e). Although the search for justice at the city-level and within the individual had been found the question of justice led into the further discussions of equally fundamental questions. In Book V the discussion delved into the idea of a community of women and children. This proposal had arisen from Socratesââ¬â¢ discussion of the lifestyle of the guardian class. The societal structure that Plato offered contained three main classes: The workers, auxiliary and the guardians. He advanced the view that although society must contain all three, it was the guardian class that possessed the wisdom and truth within society; therefore those within the guardian class must be brought up with the utmost care. Since the guardian class was so fundamental to the good of the community those within it hasShow MoreRelatedLanguage and the Destiny of Man12402 Words à |à 50 Pagesof patristic inspiration.
